Where to find the workshop venue

The Education Centre is situated on Bowen Bridge Road at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Herston.

Directions & Transportation From the Airport
The Education Centre is approximately 14km from the Brisbane Domestic Airport. If traffic is running well it should take approximately 30 minutes by taxi at a cost of around $50.

The Airtrain departs the domestic and international airports regularly. The closest train stations are Bowen Hills and Brunswick Street (Fortitude Valley). Both stations are approximately one kilometre from the Education Centre and the fare is around $15.00 from the Domestic Airport. Bus services run between each train station and the hospital. From the City

The Education Centre is around 4 kilometres from the city centre. Depending on traffic it should take 20 – 30 minutes by taxi at a minimum cost of around $20.00.

Taxis
The closest taxi rank to the Education Centre is located at the main entrance to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital off Butterfield Street.

There is also another taxi rank located outside the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) building on Herston Road.

Public Transport
There are a number of buses which service the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital (RBWH). To determine the bus service nearest your location, use the journey planner function at http://www.transinfo.qld.gov.au/  alternatively, you can contact Translink on 13 12 30.

The nearest railway stations are Fortitude Valley and Bowen Hills. Both stations are approximately one kilometre from the Education Centre with connecting bus services to the RBWH.

Car Parking There is limited street car parking available in the Herston area.
There are three multi-storey car parks available to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. These are all undercover and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As they are privately owned parking charges apply at each car park.

Metro Car Park on Butterfield Street is located near the main entrance to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and costs approximately $28 per day.

Metro Car Park on Bramston Terrace adjoins the Royal Children’s Hospital and costs approximately $21 per day.

Wilson Car Park on the corner of Gilchrist Avenue and Herston Road costs approximately $32 per day.

Accommodation The Children’s Nutrition Research Centre 2011 workshop will be held at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital’s Education Centre at Herston, Queensland.

Areas surrounding Herston include: Bowen Hills, Fortitude Valley, Windsor, Spring Hill and the City of Brisbane.
