Infant Feeding

Welcome to the Infant Feeding research theme, headed by Professor Peter Davies.

Infant feeding attitudes and behaviours amongst first time mothers in Queensland
We recognise that all mothers want to do the best job they can in every aspect of caring for their new baby.  Finding information to guide them in the process of making decisions about what is best for their child can be difficult though.
This research aims to investigate how first-time mothers feed their baby during his or her first year.  The study will examine challenges and difficulties new mothers face, and how they find the information they need to assist in the process of making decisions about feeding their baby.

The information gathered from this study will help health professionals to make information about infant feeding more easily available, more relevant, and more appropriate to mothers in the future, for the wellbeing of their infants.
