Year 12 School Leaver Entry for International Applicants
Up to 50 International full fee paying places are available for students who make an application to one of the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) dual degree programs while in their final year of secondary school.
The dual degree programs available to international students are the Bachelor of Health Sciences/MBBS, Bachelor of Arts/MBBS or Bachelor of Science/MBBS.
All Year 12 School Leaver Entry offers are provisional as students are first required to complete study in a bachelor’s degree at UQ with satisfactory academic performance prior to entering the MBBS program.
So what do I need?
1. QLD OP 1
or the equivalent rank of 99* from other high school studies:
Please refer to UQ's Minimum Entry Requirements for International Undergraduate Programs webpage for other international senior studies and their equivalent scores.
Applicants must meet a minimum level of achievement in the UMAT or ISAT admissions test within a valid test year to be eligible.
All applicants must achieve a minimum score of 50 in each section of the UMAT to be eligible.
OR
All applicants must achieve a minimum of 60 percentile in each section of the ISAT to be eligible.
An interview will not be part of the selection process.
3. English Language Proficiency
- If English is the 1st language, then this is met by all forms of study relevant to the country qualification as stated in the HUPP 3.40.14, and additional qualifications listed in the Undergraduate Prospectus for International Students 2009 (page 95) for students applying for the Year 12 School Leaver option.
- If English is NOT the 1st language, then all applicants for the Year 12 School Leaver Entry option must sit an IELTS test (Academic) and achieve the minimum overall score of 7.0; Writing – 7.0; Spoken – 7.0
- Exception: All international students who have undertaken QLD senior studies (Years 11 and 12) and have completed 4 semesters of English with a Sound Achievement.

Only complete applications meeting the minimum entry requirements will be considered for offer. Applications will not be assessed until all supporting documentation has been received.
