AREAS OF ACTIVITY

UQ medical students are encouraged to do clinical placements around the world.

In 2008 the UQ School of Medicine received the Queensland Education and Training International Award for Excellence (QETI) in Outward Mobility.

This award recognises the spectacular achievement that over 40 % of enrolled UQ medical students visited overseas hospitals and universities as part of their medical training, spending a minimum of four weeks on placement.

To offer its students a variety of options for study overseas, the UQ School of Medicine continues to develop partnerships throughout Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Europe.

Students can go overseas on Elective in (Years 1 and 4) or as part of Clinical Rotations (Years 3 and 4).

Below is a list of where our students have travelled for clinical placements in the last two years.

Students keen to travel for their studies are directed to the UQ Medical Society Electives Database.  Here you will find detailed information to set up amazing clinical experiences all around the world.  Click here to go to the UQMS Electives Database.
